State Capitol Closed Friday, Jan. 16, 2009

Speaker Calvin Say notified House employees this evening that the Hawaii State Capitol will be shut down tomorrow due to expected dangerous weather conditions. Permanent employees and members will be back on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, to make up for the day off. Lobbyists, employees and citizens should not try to come down to the capitol tomorrow. Both Senate and House leadership have canceled all hearings and meetings for the day.

ATTENTION:

House Employees should not come to work tomorrow because of the expected bad weather. To make up for the off day, House permanent employees should report to work on Monday for a full day of work.
