WAI‘ANAE ELEMENTARY TO RECEIVE $100K DONATION FROM LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER


Donation to convert library into innovative student learning center

Wai'anae, Hawaii – Charles Hew-Len, CEO of Hew-Len Group, is scheduled to make a generous donation of $100,000 to Waiʻanae Elementary School to assist in the conversion of its library into an innovative student learning center. Representative Cedric Asuega Gates (Waiʻanae, Mākaha, Mākua, Māʻili) and Senator Maile S.L. Shimabukuro (Kalaeloa, Honokai Hale, Ko ‘Olina, Nānākuli, Ma‘ili, Wai‘anae, Mākaha, Mākua) will present an honorary certificate during the ceremony.
Charles Hew-Len, a proud alumnus of Waiʻanae Elementary, says his goal is to assist in the creation of an environment for students to discover their passions through innovative learning and technology. Through his generosity he hopes to inspire other local businesses and community members to contribute to this project.
Hew-Len Group is a real estate development and property management company for affordable housing, office and retail building, and community projects on the Leeward Coast. Based in Māʻili, the company's mission is to improve the quality of life for Waiʻanae Coast residents through h­ousing, entrepreneurship, and education.
