Another Train, Another State
Californians will be voting on a ballot initiative this election on a rail project of their own. Proposition 1A dedicates more than $10 billion for a high-speed rail line running from Sacramento to San Diego. The trains would run at 220 miles per hour making them the fastest trains in the country. In comparison, the high-speed trains running from Washington DC to Boston clock at 150 miles per hour. Critics predict that the initiative will fail given California's current budget woes.
