SB2082, SD2 RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY. Appropriates funds to the Department of Public Safety to develop a plan by July 1, 2008 to return as many as possible of the female Hawaii prisoners incarcerated in mainland prisons back to Hawaii by July 1, 2009.

SB2828 SD2 RELATING TO DISASTER RELIEF. Clarifies the use of the Governor's emergency powers in response to a natural or manmade disaster.

SB2886, SD1 RELATING TO CHILD ABANDONMENT. Increases child abandonment to a class C felony and renames the offense to child abandonment in the first degree.

SB2425, SD1 RELATING TO ARSON. Specifies the firefighting costs that a defendant convicted of arson may be required to reimburse.

SB3182, SD1 RELATING TO EXTENDED SENTENCING. Qualifies for extended term sentencing criminal offenders who commit enumerated felonies against good Samaritans.

SB945 RELATING TO ETHICS. Requires drug testing of elected officials after certification of election, but prior to taking the oath of office, and upon reasonable suspicion thereafter. Proposed HD1.

SB3202 PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION TO EXTEND THE MANDATORY RETIREMENT AGE FOR SSTATE JUSTICES AND JUDGES FROM SEVENTY TO EIGHTY YEARS OF AGE.

SB2605, SD1 RELATING TO TAXATION. Increases the election fund contribution amount on state income tax returns from $2 to $3 for campaign spending purposes.
