As the Lege Turns

Tired of your usual daytime TV fare? You can catch the House and Senate third reading sessions tomorrow on Olelo public access. The House session starts at 9:00 a.m. and will be cablecast on Oceanic, Channel 53. The Senate session starts at 10:00 a.m. and will be cablecast on Oceanic, Channel 49. Both will also go live to the Neighbor Islands via HITS.

Update: I learned this morning, thanks to a comment, that the sessions are also streamed live on Olelo.org.

Has anybody ever approached Olelo/Capitol TV about streaming the audio and/or video of key floor sessions to the net and making it all available for download after the fact?

Yes, the House and Senate have discussed this with Capitol TV. First, the cablecasts are already streamed live on Olelo.org. As far as downloading capabilities, I believe that the cost has been an issue, but that research is currently being done to find more cost-effective software. House plans to revisit this after session.
