Annual event showcases Hawaii’s
diverse agriculture industry
Dozens of farmers,
ranchers, food manufactures and industry representatives will set up booths and
pass out free samples of their locally grown products during the 2016
Agriculture Awareness Day at the Hawaii State Capitol.
The event, now in its
10th year, is sponsored by the Hawaii Farm Bureau and is an
opportunity for lawmakers and the public to learn about Hawaii’s agriculture
industry directly from the people and organizations that supply our communities
with many of the local foods and products we eat.
The event is being
co-hosted by Rep. Clift Tsuji and Rep. Richard Onishi, and Sen. Mike Gabbard
and Sen. Clarence Nishihara, the chairs and vice chairs of the House and Senate
Agriculture committees.
