This blog is a place for us to share with you the ins and outs of the Hawaii State Legislature. We represent the Majority of the Hawaii House of Representatives, which currently consists of 43 members.
We try to post daily breaking news stories, feature stories and commentaries written by resident bloggers Georgette and Thelma as well as individual House members. We encourage transparency and open dialogue, therefore, please feel free to comment at your heart's desire. We'd love to hear what you have to say! You can also visit us on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. You'll find many of your Hawaii lawmakers there.

The Hawaii House Blog has been around for over 5 years now! Can you believe it? It's been a great ride, and we're not planning on going anywhere, so stick around, click on some links, read more about our resident bloggers, search your district lawmakers, flip through pictures, etc. We post new things daily as much as possible, so come back often. Aloha!

The House

The Hawaii House of Representative’s 51 members represent equal amounts of districts across the islands. They are elected by you, the people of the State of Hawaii, to represent their respective communities by addressing your needs and concerns while simultaneously managing and developing state policy.

State House Representatives propose new laws, review and amend old ones. They talk and meet with you in your communities to get feedback on important issues that will impact your lives. This blog and other social media tools has given us another way to connect with the community.

The House is currently led by the Speaker of the House, Representative Joesph M. Souki.
